CureTec Delivers Fully Automated Concrete Curing System in Western Australia

CureTec Accelerated Curing

Western Australian Large-Scale Precast Producer Adopts CureTec Accelerated Curing to Solve High-Precision Challenges for 120-Ton Bridge Girders

A major precast concrete producer in Western Australia—specializing in large-scale infrastructure components such as bridge girders and drainage systems—faced growing demand for high-quality, custom-engineered elements. With individual beams weighing up to 120 tons, precise accelerated curing became essential to meet strict regulatory and performance standards.

To support its expansion, the client adopted advanced European formwork technology and evaluated concrete curing solutions worldwide. CureTec was selected for its German-engineered approach that combines industrial automation, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability.

In compliance with local statutory requirements, CureTec designed a complete, seasonally adaptive curing system featuring:
  • A motorized, fully automated tent (90 m long × 10 m wide)
  • An integrated steam generator
  • The CureSteam PLC-controlled automation system
  • A customized, insulated container serving as an on-site operations room—equipped with HVAC, lighting, soundproofing, and ventilation

Operation is fully streamlined: after casting, operators initiate the curing cycle via a touch panel. The tent automatically closes, runs a precise 24-hour curing program, and reopens upon completion—eliminating the need for manual timing or supervision.

Key Advantages of CureTec’s Tent Curing Solution

Stable curing environment:

Maintains optimal temperature and humidity for consistent early-strength development.

Superior concrete quality:

Reduces moisture loss, minimizing cracking and enhancing long-term durability.

Surface protection:

Shields against sunlight, wind, dust, and sand—preserving finish and dimensional accuracy.

Environmental control:

Prevents external contaminants from affecting the concrete surface.

Increased productivity:

Provides a controlled microclimate, reducing weather-related delays and labor dependency.

CureTec Custom Engineering Overcomes Tent-Curing Limitations, Enabling Precise Climate Control and Resilient Production for Oversized Precast Elements

While tent-based systems typically offer lower insulation than permanent chambers, they are ideal for oversized elements like long-span beams and columns. CureTec addresses performance limitations through custom engineering—ensuring reliable, repeatable curing results even in demanding conditions.
By integrating advanced software with hardware components, CureTec enables precise control over temperature, humidity, and airflow. This allows producers to manufacture high-quality precast elements—including bridge girders, railway sleepers, paving slabs, and more—in an efficient, cost-effective, and climate-resilient manner.
